Hillary’s Ride was founded on the principal that small, grass-roots organisations, can be leaders in change. Therefore, when we set about partnering with charities across the country, we looked first at those who do amazing work in their communities and that connected with our goals.

NEED2 Suicide Prevention Education and Support works to prevent deaths by suicide. They work to remove the stigma that surrounds suicide. They provide support to those impacted by suicide and crisis by providing emotional support to youth on-line, through support groups and community programming. They are primarily a volunteer organization and want a world free of suicide.

The Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC (Crisis Centre) helps people help themselves and others deal with crisis. They have been providing emotional support to youth, adults and seniors in distress since 1969. They operate 1-800-SUICIDE, YouthInBC.com and CrisisCentreChat.ca as well as providing education and tools for their communities.

Wood’s Homes is a community owned and operated children’s mental health centre based in Calgary. With a staff complement of 350 we provide 34 programs and services for at-risk children, youth and their families. These programs are located in Calgary, Canmore, Lethbridge, Strathmore (Wheatland County), Fort McMurray and Fort Smith, N.W.T.

The Miywasin Society of Aboriginal Services is a partnership that targets the needs of the Aboriginal Community in the Medicine Hat area, providing a full range of services that include youth and counselling programs. Miywasin is a Cree word that translates to “it is good.”

Youth Agencies Alliance is a group of 18 different after-school and community service agencies that function as an advocate for youth and youth issues. The Coalition has succeeded in creating and implementing many joint projects that have benefited the youth communities served.

The Spot is a music and arts program open to anyone under 30. Sometimes youth need a place to go. They may feel disconnected from their communities, want more respect and encouragement, or may have mental health concerns. That’s when The Spot comes in.
